The Brahmaputra Mail is a daily train which connects Dibrugarh  (an important town in upper Assam) with Old Delhi (capital of India) . Originally this train ran between Delhi Junction railway station and Guwahati and was named as Tinsukia Mail (Since it connected to Tinsukia via MG section that ran between Guwahati and Tinsukia). Later it was renamed as Brahmaputra Mail after the river since it is one of the most important river for the state and one of amongst top 20 large river in the world. After successful gauge conversion between Guwahati-Lumding-Dibrugarh, it was extended to Dibrugarh.This train belongs to Northern Railway (NR) zone of Indian Railway and operated and maintained by Delhi Division (DLI Division) of NR. The train is numbered as 14055/14056.
