German Chancellor Angela Merkel has met with the country's president following the collapse of coalition talks in Berlin. Late Sunday evening, the Free Democrats Party announced they were withdrawing from coalition discussions citing "no trust between parties". The talks had been ongoing since Merkel's Christian Democratic Union party failed to win a majority in federal elections in September.
