The News Sentinel's Empty Stocking Fund program celebrates 100 years of serving the Knoxville community. From humble beginnings in 1912 with the first donation of a nickel, the program has grown to feed 3600 families and provide books and toys to children in the area. It also provides an opportunity for people to volunteer their time at the holidays in the true spirit of giving.
