United Nations - Statement by   H.E. Mr. Taneti Maamau, President of the Republic of Kiribati.
A special high-level event took place at the UN General Assembly on 21 September 2016 to accelerate the entry into force of the Paris Agreement on climate change. The event provided an opportunity to countries to publicly commit to joining or ratifying the agreement before the end of 2016. Heads of State and Government had the opportunity to send video statements.
