Andrew discusses AI, ethics and consciousness. When should we assign the artificial agents ethical consideration? Andrew stipulates that there is no special further question about consciousness that should effect the way we ask questions about ethics more broadly. As systems or agents get more generally intelligent, or they have a degree of intentionality - the more we should assign ethical consideration to these agents. Andrew also discusses possible absurd conclusions we could arrive at when i.e. considering ethical consideration to say pain states that exist entirely independent of rational or intentional systems. Andrew also discusses the nature of consciousness, Free Will, and what he finds exciting about the future. http://au.linkedin.com/pub/andrew-dun/b/904/ab5
