Made by The National Film Board 1954. Directed by Jack Rogers. Narration by James Dibble. Ray Of Hope was designed to promote Australia's national campaign against tuberculosis. It describes the disease and the preventive measures being taken, specifically the use of X-ray machines. This film, along with School's Out, already published here: http://youtu.be/Fxa6Uxds3lY and In Harbour, http://youtu.be/C79oGZRjSNk were all screened at the inaugural Sydney Film Festival in 1954. And it is our pleasure to present them here in honour of the festivals 60th anniversary. As part of an agreement with Sydney University in 1954 for the Film Festival to use the science faculty's theatrette for the festival screenings it was a condition of use that there be some screenings of science related films. Ray Of Hope was a part fulfillment of that condition.
