A short hike on Saturday, June 16 to Barnett Knob immediately after my Hemphill Bald hike. It was my 23rd out of 24 lookout towers on the Carolina Lookout Tower Challenge. Fortunately it is a very short hike, and on the plus side the wildflowers were nice along the road. It was surprising and disappointing that this tower had poor views, considering it is 60-feet high. The trees have grown impressively since the tower was built, and now the views kind of suck. Oh well, at least it was easy. Hike was 1.4 miles with 591 feet elevation gain in 45 minutes.
