I switched up my cheaper chicken food recipe. I added cracked corn as a bit of more variety for the birds and as a treat for them during the winter. The bags of cracked corn isn't any more than the individual bags of whole wheat or oats so its still saving just as much money.

I figure this saves me around 30% or more on feed costs while providing a more natural sort of diet for the birds - i.e. whole grains which is all they would get in nature.

Ingredients:
- Cracked corn
- Whole Oats
- Whole Wheat
- Soy bean mash - this raises the overall protein content

Try it yourself, tell me what you think. Do your birds like it? My birds survived winter on this and our daily table scraps.
