So let me tell you a little bit about the gig. There were 8 total bands. I played first - so it wasn't packed. There were about 30 people or so (more kept filling in later in the night). So 10 minutes before the gig, my guitar string breaks! That was a sign of my crazy luck tonight. It was the high E string, which is the most important for the songs I play.

Check my gig bag, I have no High E strings. All I have is a much heavier string. I winged it and prayed it wouldn't snap from the tightness... and it held! But new strings often fall out of tune...so for the next couple of mins I pulled and bent that string to try to iron out the inevitable detuning from a new string.

Show starts, and the actual juice to the guitar is very, very low. I know it worked perfect last night, and I replaced the battery this morning! The sound guy had me plug into two different DI Boxes...I think one of the DI boxes was not working (or he didn't pan one hard left and the other hard right) because I was missing some sounds in my set -- the instruments that were panned outward.

And my monitor (the speaker, so I can hear what is being played) was blown out! I could not hear the beat or bass in any of my songs... That was the hardest part! Not being able to hear the beat made me have to fully concentrate and put everything I could into trying to stay in time, because I use the drum beat as a guide point...I know it threw me off time a few places, but I did my best!

After the gig, I spoke with some people, and they said that they didn't notice... All I can say is, WHEW! :)
