I put together a bunch of military test videos of the Valentine APU Jeep on site in San Diego. They were testing a new prototype plane called the Convair XFY-1 Pogo, a predecessor to the Harrier. Funny enough, the Jeep isn't actually being used as APU (jump starting the Pogo) but rather towing a trailer with presumably a more powerful APU setup. Notice the one hooligan who puts the Jeep into low range, sits on the hood, and pushes a ladder around. Video dates 1955. Jeep was built around 1951/1952.
