DHCP-Dynamic Host Controll Protocol. The DHCP server is used to assign IP addresses automatically for the client PC’s in a network. DHCP belongs to the application layer of the OSI model. The port numbers are 67 and 68 (dhcp server:67, dhcp client:68). The DHCP working principle is called DORA process.
