Microbreweries Could Soon Open in Downtown Hende

HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. -- Hendersonville could soon see an influx of breweries heading to town. The city's planning board just voted to change a local ordinance banning microbreweries from the downtown area. Now, the city council has to approve the recommendation before it becomes legal for breweries to open around Main Street. The council will put it to a vote at its next meeting in July. "A lot of people come to Asheville for microbreweries anyways. So, I think it will bring that traffic a little bit farther South, down here. We're excited about it," Lucy Binning, an employee at Banana Moon, said.
