Jacqueline Hickson was suffering breathing difficulties when she was raced to Glan Clwyd Hospital in Rhyl, North Wales before being forced to wait 62 hours on a plastic chair for a bed. Mrs Hickson, 76, was eventually admitted to the hospital's acute medical unit for treatment. Hospital management apologised to Mrs Hickson and said they were suffering a spike in demand as a result of the heatwave.
