June is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month in the United States. Many of us have completed the journey from shame to self-acceptance. Many more are still struggling through that journey. Please spare a kind, supportive word this month for those you think are struggling. Let them know you are their friend or family and love them for exactly who they are. Don't let the abusive, destructive voices in their ears and inside their heads be the only voices they hear. We need the talent, the unique expression, and the gift of love from each of our sisters and brothers. Don't let any of them slip away. Be proud of them, and help them be proud of themselves.
