The MEC for Community Safety, Dan Plato, says a lack of visible policing has fueled the spate of gang violence in the province in recent months.He's asked National Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa to urgently intervene.Budget cuts last year meant that the reservists could no longer be kept on the police payroll.
