Fu Baiyin, a Li's woman of fifties, is born in Yudao village in the east part of Hainan. Like all women and girls in the village, she spends most of her leisure time creating a unique traditional handicraft - Li Brocade. The women and girls in the village share the same objective, that is to keep the tradition alive. The reason behind is not only that they hold the reverence for the God of Li and the ancestors, but also to protect their unique culture. Although nowadays women in Yudao village choose different ways of making Li Brocade according to their own preference, they hold the same aim all the time, that is passing the tradition down through educating the next generation.
