How to make Pancakes as told by Mum. Here is the recipe: 1) 1 Egg, whipped to froth (very tiring). 1a) Mum said the spoons on the table are not called "Table Spoons" and showed me a much larger spoon, which happened to made of silver, said it was a "family heirloom". Anyway the spoon size used was the size of spoon that you typically get to eat your desert at millions of non-fancy restaurants and cafeterias the world over and are found on tables laid horizontally in the place setting in all my friends homes. 2) Flour we used the locally available "farine de bleu" - all purpose flour. 3 heaped for that size bowl. 3) Sugar - normal white. 2 flat and then maybe a 20% filled one as she adjusted. 3) Milk - full fat - to that level on the bowl as seen on the film. 4) A drop of vegetable oil. 5) Pinch of Salt. Wait 15 mins until mixture thickens. Hot heat pan with decent size butter blob. Pour layer as seen in film. Cook until nicely browned. Keep mobile by pushing around pan. Flip. Eat.
