PIRATES AND MERMAIDS: On August 11th, 2018 Pirates invaded Boyne City... and they captured some mermaids too! During the Boyne City Pirate Festival (located in Boyne City, Michigan) pirates paraded through the town and entertained guests with their songs, tricks and by showing off their pirate treasures. This jolly group of sailors juggled swords, entertained the crowds with their skits and helped little pirates hunt for treasure. Oh! And they brought their ships too! With the pirates came their strange finds from their time spent at sea (errr... lake). This crew of scalawags brought live parrots, a feisty baby Pegasus and managed to capture a whole pod of real mermaids! The town of Boyne City was flooded with smiling faces of buccaneers both young and old who were eager to take part in this family-friendly costumed event. The music was upbeat and the energy was vibrant. It seems as though the townspeople of Boyne City (and the merpeople of Lake Michigan) will be more than happy to have the pirates back for next year's event.
