Recorded track of the Victory-screen music in Doom. This was a right bitch to make, and needed about a weeks worth of editing, blood and spit. The original midi track had all the components for genious, starting with a nice atmospheric introduction and huge lead melody, but it stays very similar from the beginning to the end, and is just too long to pull it off on it's own, and the original halo-pad melody sounds, in truth, just fucking awful. So instead I piled up a nice warm cello-track and a choir, just to stay faithful to Bobby, and also developed an obsession to split the track into two parts. What I ended up loving best is the break-down 8-bit modulator, it's just the most psychotic-sounding damn thing to put there. In hindsight, a distorted bagpipe and wah-saxophones might have done the same thing.. Original midi track by Robert "Bobby" Prince for the video game Doom (1993) by Id Software.
