Channel: TEDx Talks · 2014 · Nonprofits & Activism
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Life stories are often glorified by tales of success while glazing over the pains of the journey. In this compact talk, Heather shares some of her experiences as a social entrepreneur, and she explains how they have inspired her perspectives on what it means to be alive and how we all can embrace a purpose to struggle. Heather McDougall is an honors law school graduate turned social entrepreneur who founded start-up, Bogobrush, and think tank, ShareProject, with her brother, John. Currently, she is CEO for Bogobrush, but her prior work includes lobbying and fundraising campaigns for non-profit organizations in ND and MN. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
