Project Lifesaver Helps Find The Missing

Officers say the search for a missing Rutherford County man with Alzheimer's may have been more successful if he'd had some sort of tracking device. That worries one Hendersonville mother who's child has autism and often wanders away. Candice Matelski say she keeps a close eye on her 5-year-old son, but sometimes that's not enough. She wants the Henderson County's Sheriff's Office to participate in Project Lifesaver. Project Lifesaver allows caretakers to put a wrist or ankle bracelet on their loved ones that emits a tracking signal, making them easier to find if they're lost. Rutherford County has participated in Project Lifesaver for the past six years, but say few citizens participate. Henderson County does not offer the program, but say they'd be interested in exploring that option.
