Red Kettle Campaign Kicks Off

ASHEVILLE, N.C.-- Bells are ringing and Christmas music is in the air. The Salvation Army's annual Red Kettle Campaign for Buncombe County kicked off Friday at the K-Mart on Patton avenue. Their brass ensemble even played Christmas music greeting customers as they passed by. Your donations this year will be used to supply food, clothing and new toys for 1,200 children and 800 families in the area. With just seven weeks until Christmas, every donation counts. "These are the folks that if it wasn't for the army, they may not have a Christmas this year" says Major Mark Satterlee of The Salvation Army.
