Most electrical engineers learned how to use a function generator in their first hands-on engineering class (or sooner).

In general, they’re pretty easy to use if you only need to source one signal, but it can be a bit cumbersome if you are trying to coordinate multiple inputs.

If you’re in an automated testing environment, trying to coordinate multiple function generators can also make your code more complex.

So, today's tip looks at how to coordinate multiple function generator outputs using “dual channel operation.”

To turn on dual channel operation, select a channel - "more" - "dual channel"

You can couple the amplitude and/or the frequency, and even set up ratios between the two channels.
