I sent my dead Canon 70D DSLR into Canon to get fixed after it failed to power on last spring and they fixed it for free. After it failed to power on, I received a service notice a few months later (after buying a new DSLR), I took the chance and sent in the camera for a service recall fix. They accepted and fixed it within a few weeks. The only problem seems to be that it got really dirty. So not that free as I have to get it professionally cleaned now.
