Daphne Noonan is extremely passionate about working in the ever changing field of Eldercare and more specifically in contributing to the process of helping those with whom she works to grow old with dignity and honor. Currently working as a Program Consultant at the Atlantic Institute on Aging and the Manager of Therapeutic Recreation at York Care Centre in Fredericton, Daphne provides leadership to a number of initiatives that promote the concept of Holistic Aging.

Daphne explains the positive effects of music for elders suffering with dementia. She describes four examples of patients who have benefitted first hand from the "iPod Project" that was launched in New Brunswick.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
