M.V. Cabo Star Delayed Due To Inclement Weather

The Trinidad & Tobago Inter-Island Transportation Company is informing the public that excessive rainfall over the last few days has delayed works on the M.V. Cabo Star, including painting. This prevented the vessel from leaving the dockyard on Monday as was planned. The Transportation Company says they expect that the Cabo Star will return to service on Wednesday after several tests have been carried out. Inclining tests were done on Monday night to assess the stability of the vessel. The vessel will be in the Port-of-Spain harbour on Tuesday. While there, further tests and inspections of the engine and shipyard will be carried out to ensure that there are no performance and safety issues. This process will take approximately 8 hours. During the absence of the vessel, the T&T Spirit will accommodate some of the vehicles up to 7000kgs.
