This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Dirk Brouns is convinced that the Venlo region has everything to become the Silicon Valley of the world in the area of digital manufacturing. He believes we are at the dawn of a digital industrial revolution. The Euregion can form an axis in this revolution, because many of the required technologies are developed here in effective collaborations, particularly inkjet technology, the basis of 3D printing. And 3D printing is an important aspect of digital manufacturing. Dirks “Fluid ideas for a solid new world” is a call to the Venlo region to seize the opportunities - to create jobs and prosperity for future generations.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
