Buckeyes QB Battle Begins, Braxton "Full-Time" WR

COLUMBUS -- Braxton Miller isn't just switching positions -- he's switching his number. The Wayne alum will don the number one this season in place of number five. Miller and the Buckeyes opened training camp Monday. "He looked like this is his first time playing receiver," quarterback Cardale Jones said of Miller's debut practice at wide receiver. Head coach Urban Meyer, who had previously left the possibility of Miller still being in the quarterback mix, closed that chapter Monday afternoon. "He's full-time (wide receiver)," Meyer said. "I don't want to say I completely left it up to him, but I just want to see how he pushed and he's full-time receiver." QUARTERBACK COMPETITION With the Buckeyes just in helmets on day one, there wasn't a whole lot to take away in regards to the quarterback battle. Meyer did say he expects the reps to be a 50/50 split for the first dozen practices. He also said he won't announce a starting quarterback publicly before the season opener.
