Youth Speaks presents THE BAY AREA MC OLYMPICS
Video by Getback Productions (thegetback.com)

The Bay Area MC Olympics is the first competition of its kind on the West Coast. Designed by local hip hop artists, activists, educators, and culture keepers, the MC Olympics is a place for MCs from all across the Bay, ages 13 - 19 to show, build, and test their skills in the company of their peers, in the presence of their predecessors, and with the blessing of their elders. Preliminary competition will take place on the same time on the same day--Saturday, July 9th, 1:30pm--at two different sites. Please choose the site closest to you.

OAKLAND: Saturday, July 9th, 1:30pm, ProArts Gallery, 150 Frank Ogawa Plaza, Oakland, CA
hosted by Talia Taylor & DO DAT

SAN FRANCISCO: Saturday, July 9th, 1:30pm, San Francisco Public Library, Main Branch, 100 Larkin Street
hosted by Kiwi & Melina Jones

The Bay Area MC Olympics is modelled after the original MC Olympics in Chicago put on by YCA and Louder than a Bomb. The Bay Area edition is brought to you by Youth Speaks Inc., the Zulu Nation, the San Francisco Public Library, MVMT, the Parked Car, BUMP Records, LIFE IS LIVING, the GetBack, iLL-LITERACY, Grind For The Green, TeamBackpack.com, and Hard Knock Radio.
