This was my favorite site in Egypt. Sobek was the crocodile god and his images generally consist of a man with the head of a crocodile--pretty much as cool as it gets. Also, the general quality of the artwork here was a cut above the rest. The temple which survives today is from the Ptolemaic period I believe. No one matched the Greeks for aesthetics. Combine Greek art with Egyptian religion and you end up with one magical temple. This footage was recorded June 12, 2012.
