(12 Nov 2018) Several thousand Central American migrants have clambered onto vehicles and lorries at a highway junction leading out of the central city of Irapuato in Mexico on Monday. They were hoping to hitch rides toward the western city of Guadalajara as they prepare to hit the Pacific coast route northward toward the US border. The route to the border city of Tijuana is still about 1,550 miles (2,500 kilometers) away.
