Another game that uses the "Beats of Rage" engine, "A Tale of Vengeance" (while rough around the edges) is one of the best BoR games available. There are five selectable characters, with at least three unlockable characters as you go, actual special moves that can be executed (and most moves were altered and upgraded to be more effective for this type of game), a nice selection of music and levels, and a story of sorts. 

The only two things I didn't like about the game is the length and multiplayer. I actually found it to be too long. I played this with my bro for about two hours, but was getting tired around the sixth stage. In multiplayer, you have limited use of your most useful attack (the attack to get enemies away from you). Using it will knock down your partner when enemies fly into them and eventually kill them, but it becomes almost essential after the third level. This makes the game much harder in multiplayer than in single player.

The game has characters from several series such as Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, Last Blade, etc.
