The number of people turning to direct selling to make money, is on the rise. Home-based businesses are booming. From nearly 10 million in the year 2000 to an estimated 20 million or more today. Amy Ostwalt has recently joined those numbers, selling a skin care line from her Asheville home. She says she's seen good results financially, but more importantly it's a means of security. But of course, there are critics when it comes to multi-level marketing. In 2012, the Better Business Bureau counted 347 complaints on multi-level marketing companies nationwide. Some experts say to really do your homework before comitting to direct selling and to avoid pyramid schemes.
