I started this channel in January two thousand and ten. We had been living on our sailboat about five years or so and I was excited to share our live aboard life with you. For several years we shared our stories. It was fun and exciting to share the live aboard life. 

The thing is, three years ago we sold our sailboat and move to a rural small farm homestead. A new chapter in our life. Hey, this is what the pirate lifestyle is all about. Living life. Having fun. The freedom to do what you want to do. 

We lived on the sailboat full time three hundred and sixty five days a year for nine years. It might seem difficult to believe, and it is weird saying this, but life on the sailboat had become normal for us. And the last thing I want to be, is normal. 

It was time to do something new, something different. So here we are on our homestead. I tried changing Pirate Lifestyle to Pioneer Lifestyle. But it never felt right. I just wasn’t feeling it like I was with pirate lifestyle. Pioneer lifestyle just didn’t seem to correctly say what I want to say. 

Today, I am excited I am really excited. I figured out I needed to broaden things. I want to talk about the same things, but in a more general way. What the pirate lifestyle is really about is being self reliant. 

I hope you will stay with me? As we travel together on this journey of life. The videos will be the same, in a broader made for everyone kind of way. The new name will be Live Life DIY. Self reliant live life on your own terms. I have this awesome new hat too.
