Congress president Rahul Gandhi alleged that BJP, TRS and MIM are friendly parties and they have been working together to divide the people.

 

He was addressing a public meeting at historic Chaminar on Saturday evening after conferring Rajiv Sabhavana Award to former Governor and Chief Minister K. Rosaiah.

 

Rahul Gandhi congratulated Rosaiah for the Rajiv Sadbhavana Award which he said has been conferred for his work and ideology. Stating that Rajiv Gandhi had come to the same place 28 years ago, the Congress president that his father and other Congress leaders had worked hard to bring everyone together. He said that the entire nation, irrespective of caste, religion, gender or age, fought together to gain freedom for the country from the Britishers. Post-independence, he said that the Constitution of India guaranteed every citizen equal rights and an opportunity to live with peace and brotherhood.

 

Rahul Gandhi said today the fight was between two ideologies. "At one side we have people who want to divide the nation. They don't speak about the country and just want to divide the people. On the other side, we have people who want to keep everyone united and aligned. One ideology is of hatred and another is of love. Today people in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu or any other State in the entire country are living in fear. People are recalling the days when entire nation was peaceful and living together," he said.

 

"The first question being asked today is about caste, religion, State or language and the most important question of people being Indian is being sidelined. Whether it is Rohit Vemula, any Dalit, Adivasi or a Muslim...in different States, they are being intimidated and threatened. Today women are afraid of coming out of their houses fearing unknown consequences. There is a reason for this fear and it is the Prime Minister himself," he said while alleging that PM Modi was working to divide the nation. "PM Modi and his supporters are spreading the hatred to divide the people," he alleged.

 

Directly hitting out at the MIM, Rahul Gandhi said some divisive forces have been working together. "Why the MIM is helping PM Modi? They helped the BJP in Maharashtra, Bihar and other States. Their ideology is same and they practice divisive politics of spreading hatred. We are fighting against them. We want everyone to be heard and no one to live in any kind of fear. This country belongs to everyone," he said.

 

Rahul Gandhi described the demonitisation move of PM Modi as the most insane act and said it has ruined the country's economy. He said small shop keepers and traders were badly hurt due to the move. He said PM Modi made everyone stand in the queue in the name of weeding out black money. However, he took away people's money to help his friends like Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi, Vijay Mallaya and Anil Ambani. He said through demonitisation, PM Modi has turned the black money of all his friends into white. While the entire world criticised the move, KCR supported it just because it was done by Modi.
