* 3. Be smart about the products you choose- I rely on SOS Hydration for all of my serious training and competition. There are some good products on the market and there are some really bad ones. Be wary of ones that make grand promises of boosted performance and speed and don't just blindly grab something because it has your favorite professional athlete on the magazine ad. 
* 4. Have different hydration strategies for different circumstances: training and racing as well as hot and cold. 
* 5. Maintain fluid balance on a daily basis – drink water, eat foods with high water content, watch for weight loss or weight gain, dizziness, lethargy and cramping.
