James Kalm takes viewers on a brief tour of Dawn Clements' latest exhibition of massive drawings "Conditions of Desire". With some pieces measuring over ten feet high and filling entire corners of the gallery Clements is a prime force in what I've titled the "Meta-Drawing" movement. Features of this tendency are the obsessive desire to capture multiple perspectives of reality consciousness and documentation. The new works also display Clements reintroduction of painterly elements into her practice. Includes an interview with Dawn Clements and cameo appearance by her student Andrew Grass.
