The Greenville News welcomes Newshounds to its offices to be fostered by staff until the dog is matched with a new family. The Newshound program started in 2015 and has helped match five dogs with homes. The goal of the program is to bring awareness to the hundreds of adoptable pets currently residing at Greenville County Animal Care. For its latest foster, the newsroom ultimately decided to choose the dog whose residence at GCAC had been the longest, and that was Apollo Zeus, a 13-year-old poodle mix.
