From rodeos to horse shows, Californian Greg Whalen has always been surrounded by horses. He and his wife, Mary, are known for finding diamonds in the rough which has led them to be No. 10 on the list of all-time breeders of halter class winners. As 30-year breeders, the Whalens' 346 foals have earned more than 8,000 halter points and 725 performance points. Greg himself has earned 15 AQHA world championships.
