All live jam intended to showcase the Super Bass Station and Bass Station II via the sequencing and live performance elements of the Tempest.

SBS is sequenced by the Tempest-- there are 5 different sequences that I cycle through the jam. The BSII is playing one internal sequence.

Aside from compression and light EQ, the BSII is also going through a Moog 104z (as well as a 102 in the delay loop for part of the video). There is also a touch of reverb on the BSII to help with stereo image. No other effects.

One thing I wanted to show in this video is how the sequencer rhythm control on BSII can be used similar to the "scatter" functions on some other synths-- as a way to mix up live sequencer patches, it's a fun tool (though a little bit daring / unpredicatble, that's the fun). Note that it does not swith between rhythms mid-beat-- it waits till the start of the next beat, great for transitions.

The idea was also to show the difference in tones between these two Novation units-- considering BSII is the successor to the SBS, they really sound very different. I like them both a lot, but prefer the low end and overall sound of the SBS, though the interface for the BSII is superior and it's fun for leads. . . as so many have noted, BSII is useless for bass until keyboard filter tracking can be disabled (currently not possible).

Finally, please forgive some cheesy video fx, transitions and overlay formats that made it through to this cut. . . this video ended up exceeding the capabilities of my junk computer, so I had to just publish what I have even thought the file got corrupted and most of the formatting is off. I think of that part as an unintended homage to jexus. . . but possibly just a less to stay away from 20min jam videos.
