May 28 - Senior police officers have been lambasted for failing to apologise or take responsibility for officers' actions during the Marikana violence last August. Families of the deceased miners have refused to accept the national police commissioner's condolences. Last week the Special Ops head received a similar response.  Lawyers have urged police to reach out to victims' families and survivors of the massacre - away from the cameras.
