When I was a kid, my mother took me to the Air and Space Museum whenever I asked her to. Sitting in the dark in the planetarium I learned my place, such as it is, in the universe.

She made sure that I saw Star Wars, even warning me of the scary parts (I was 7). Time was always made for watching Battlestar Galactica, Nature, Cosmos and Nova. She taught me to be curious and to enjoy learning.

Thank you Mom.

The first half of this song is called ,"The Hole Between Here and Home," and was originally released on my 2006 ::Hopeful Machines:: album of the same name. The second half is a cover of the song ,"Alpha," the theme song to Carl Sagan's fantastic show Cosmos, by Vangelis.

The spoken word in the middle is taken from the book ,"Pale Blue Dot," by Carl Sagan.

All of the video is from the excellent film Baraka and equally wonderful film Contact.

This version of Home.Alpha is available on the new ::Hopeful Machines:: album ::MinusZero:: which can be purchased here http://egolikeness.bigcartel.com/product/limited-hopeful-machines-minus-zero-fetish-usb-drive

Other ::Hopeful Machines:: material can be found at www.hopefulmachines.net

I don't own the rights to any of the video or the dialog.

Thank you.
