This 1948 Ford F1 is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The F series line of trucks was introduced in 1948 as the "Bonus-Built" truck. This was due to the simple fact that the new line was just that a completely new line. No longer were there trucks based upon a car chassis it was based on a completely new design. With all new sheet metal and a much larger cab the new F1 was an instant hit. This 48 was a frame off build that took 2 years to complete. The paint, a custom blend, will have everyone looking at the next show. The fiberglass fenders and running boards are done so good that if you weren't told they were glass you would think they were steel. The wood bed has a slick gloss poly over it with the chrome slats accenting it nicely. The wide white wall tires compliment the painted wheels and dog-dish hub caps nicely and complete the exterior look.  Under the hood lies a small block Ford 302 that was bored .030 over and gone through with an upgraded cam being added before getting reinstalled in the truck. The AOD transmission that is behind this engine lets you enjoy the truck to the fullest. You can drive it on the highway and actually not be spinning an absurd RPM. Ride quality was drastically improved with the addition of a sub-frame and rear end from a Buick Regal. Open the door and the interior is sure to grab you attention with the grey cloth adding another level to the build. If you are looking for a really nice truck that you can jump in, drive anywhere, and do it comfortably, this would be the perfect fit.
