United Nations, 17 February 2009 - Daily Briefing by the Office of the Spokesperson for the Secretary General. Today the UN Refugee Agency says that attacks by the Lord's Resistance Army force more than 15,000 Congolese across the border into South Sudan. Adding to the situation on the ground, UNHCR says that a military operation by Congolese and Rwandan armies against a Rwandan rebel group is also causing civilians to flee.
