Alice Joy Merritt was probably better known as the songwriter of such tunes as "It Ain't No Big Thing" and "I'll Drink To That" (her husband Neal was also a songwriter, penning such tunes as "May The Bird Of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose"). Her own recording career was pretty short, spanning roughly 1967-1969, and includes this no-charting 1968 single. She didn't pen this as you can see in the video, but she did pen the B-side called "Try To Read My Lips", which is a fine tune I'll add sometime. Enjoy!
