How do you get a promotion? This is the question that everyone is asking, especially in an economy like this, where people are afraid to jump out of their current jobs. You need to remember that a promotion is considered a reward. So you don't get promotions for just doing the job that you're supposed to be doing, at the caliber with which you were hired for. A promotion is for out-performers, for people who are going above and beyond the call of duty. So if you want a promotion, you're going to have to show up early. You're going to have to stay late. You're going to have to take on tasks that scare you. You're going to have to do the work that nobody else wants to do. A promotion is a reward, and that means that you have to perform beyond what is expected. And that's how you get a promotion.
