Vacant Homes Destroyed in Fire

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. -- Two vacant homes in Buncombe County were destroyed by fire on Wednesday afternoon. Fire crews were called to the scene before 3:30 p.m. to Deaverview Road. No one was inside the home or trailer that burned. The fire is now out now, but fire crews are still putting out hotspots. An eyewitness News 13 spoke with saw the right side of the trailer on fire and then saw flames jump to the house next door. Fire fighters at first worked offensively going inside the trailer but then came out because the trailer structure was unsafe. "Conditions in there got really really hot. We're bringing them out to rehab checking vitals making sure they're good and clear," Kelley Klope with the Asheville Fire Department said.
