The proposed topic will be about how music can connect with people on a personal level and help them to find a way to join reality. It can connect to an audience collectively together where they can share an experience together that no one else has. They connect on an emotional and intimate level. Music can also connect to those that don't know which way is up sometimes or how to function throughout the day. It has the ability to connect someone back into reality and help them to find a sense of themselves again and to connect with others in that same way.

I am a 4th year at the University of Maine. I am studying Music Education with a minor in Psychology and I hope to one day get my Master's in Music Therapy and start my own therapy business that I can take with me across the state of Maine and possibly over seas to Army, Navy, Air Force bases. I have been involved with music since I was a little kid, and it has always been my passion.I think that my success as a person in school and life speaks volumes for my character and drive. I know this is very short and very personal to speak about this, but I also know that it is something I will live with for the rest of my life.
