Altogether 24 IS militants were killed in air strikes by Iraqi and U.S.-led coalition aircraft on Saturday near Ramadi, the capital of Iraq's Anbar province, a security source said. Iraqi warplanes bombarded IS vehicles in Albu Eitha area in north of Ramadi, destroying four vehicles and killing up to 15 militants aboard. Meanwhile, the aircraft and artillery pounded IS positions in Juwaiba area in east of Ramadi, destroying two positions and leaving at least nine militants killed and 12 others injured. The troops have been fighting for months as IS seized most of Anbar and tried to advance toward Baghdad. This time's attack came as they recaptured several areas at the edges of Ramadi.
