It's Nathan Birch here from binvested.com.au, the place that all the fun stuff happens here. We help people build their property portfolio, take it to the next level and quickly transpire to actually building wealth and income from property investing. A lot of people out there go out and buy properties and not make money from their property investing. Today I want to sit here and talk to you about how does a novice get into property investing and what are the best steps to get started? So we all have to start somewhere. When I first started investing in property I couldn't legally sign a contract at the age of 18 at that point. But when I got excited about property I was about 13 years old and I used to sit at the train station and read Homes Pictorial magazines. I know it sounds funny, most people don’t read other magazines when they're about 13 years old, 15 years old, whatever. But also reading the Homes Pictorial magazine it's a property magazine here that used to exist in Sydney before internet decimated the business of paper magazines. But with that I used to sit there and look at property and think about how I could buy a property when I got older. I want to buy property, how could I do it and all that sort of stuff. I just self-taught myself I had 5 years up my sleeve before I could even sign a contract and in between chasing goals and all that stuff I used to think of how I could build a property portfolio. And one day when I was 18 I hit the ground running. But for people that... what I find commonly is that people go through life and they have busy lifestyles and property is probably the last thing they're thinking of. They've got family commitments, they've got friends, they've got work, they've got all that sort of stuff and where do you get started? How can you get involved in property? How can you educate yourself on property?
